Large image files deserve to arrive exactly as you made them. WeTransfer sends your photos, illustrations, and design files straight from the browser to anyone you choose, with no re-encoding, no resolution loss, and nothing for your recipient to install or sign up for.
No file is too big
Artists and creators working with high-resolution images know the pain of files that get rejected, stripped of quality, or bounced back by email servers. WeTransfer handles the heavy lifting in the browser, delivering RAW files, layered PSDs, TIFFs, and full-resolution JPEGs to clients and collaborators exactly as they left your hard drive. Every transfer comes with a unique link you can share anywhere, and recipients can preview images directly in the browser before downloading, so they can pick the files they actually need rather than pulling down an entire shoot. You can add a password to keep work-in-progress imagery private, or restrict access to a specific list of email addresses when sharing work before a launch or exhibition. For creators sending large image sets regularly, upgrading to Ultimate removes the per-transfer size ceiling entirely and gives you flexible expiry so links stay active for as long as a project runs.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
No. WeTransfer never re-encodes, resamples, or alters your files in any way. Your RAW files, TIFFs, layered PSDs, and high-resolution JPEGs arrive at the other end bit-for-bit identical to what you uploaded. The only thing WeTransfer does is package multiple files into a zip for download, which uses lossless compression so nothing is changed.
WeTransfer works with any file type, so you can send JPEGs, PNGs, TIFFs, GIFs, HEICs, PSDs, and RAW formats including ARW, NEF, CR2, CR3, DNG, RAF, and more. Design files, ZIP archives, and mixed folders containing different formats are all fine too. There are no restrictions based on file type.
Yes. Recipients can open images directly in the browser without downloading anything first, which is useful when you've sent a large shoot and a client only needs to pick selects. Previews are displayed at a slightly reduced resolution so the full-quality originals stay protected until downloaded. Clients can also leave comments on individual files and mark favorites, which makes feedback rounds a lot smoother.
You have a couple of options. Adding a password means only recipients who have that password can access the files, and you share it with them separately outside of WeTransfer. If you need tighter control, you can restrict the transfer to a specific list of email addresses, so only those people can open the link after verifying their identity. Both options are available on all plans.
On a free account you can send up to 3 GB per transfer, with up to 10 transfers per rolling 30-day window, and links expire after 3 days. For photographers or illustrators sending large image libraries or full-resolution shoot deliveries that exceed those limits, upgrading to Ultimate removes the per-transfer size cap entirely, lets you set a custom expiry or keep links active indefinitely, and adds features like expired transfer recovery and per-transfer branding.
