Email attachments have always been the wrong tool for sending audio. Whether you're delivering final masters, stems, or session files, WeTransfer sends your audio from the browser to your recipient in its original quality, with no re-encoding, no compression, and nothing to install on either end.
No file is too big
Artists and music creators put serious work into getting a mix right, and the last thing you want is a delivery method that quietly degrades it. WeTransfer sends WAV, MP3, AIFF, and any other audio format you're working in exactly as-is, so what lands in your collaborator's or client's hands is precisely what left your studio. Every transfer generates a unique link you can share anywhere, and recipients can preview supported audio files directly in the browser without downloading anything first. You can add a password to a transfer for unreleased material, or restrict access to a specific list of email addresses when a session is confidential. When your output grows to full album deliveries, multi-track archives, or large sound library packages, upgrading to WeTransfer Ultimate removes the per-transfer size ceiling so a single send covers everything.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
No. WeTransfer never re-encodes, compresses, or alters audio files. A WAV or AIFF you upload arrives at the other end bit-for-bit identical to the original, so lossless masters and high-resolution recordings stay exactly as you mixed them. The only packaging that happens is a zip when multiple files are bundled together, and that process is lossless.
Yes. Recipients can preview MP3 and WAV files directly in the browser without downloading anything, which is handy when a producer or music supervisor wants to check a track before pulling down a large session archive. Previews play at the original file, so the listening experience is a fair representation of your work. If you only want people to preview without downloading, you can set the transfer to preview-only in your upload settings.
You have two options. Adding a password means only recipients who know it can access the files, and you share that password separately outside of WeTransfer. Restricted access lets you go further by locking a transfer to a specific list of email addresses, so even someone who stumbles across the link can't open it without matching an address on your list. Both options are available on all plans.
Yes. WeTransfer supports folder uploads, and the recipient downloads it with the original folder structure intact, so named stems, alternate mixes, and session files stay organized just as you packed them. Free accounts can send up to 3 GB per transfer, which covers most EP or single deliveries. For a full album with high-resolution stems or a large sound library, upgrading to WeTransfer Ultimate removes the per-transfer size cap entirely.
A single link transfer gives you one shareable URL you can send to as many people as you like, whether that's a label, a sync team, or a fan list. There is no recipient limit on link transfers. If you prefer to send directly to inboxes, email transfers support up to 10 recipients on a free account and up to 50 on paid plans. Either way, everyone gets access to the same files and can download or preview independently.
