WeTransfer Sign is a free e-signature tool built for organisations that need documents signed without bureaucratic overhead. Upload any PDF — a grant agreement, memorandum of understanding, policy form, or service contract — assign signature fields to each signer, and send everyone a personal link. Nothing to install, no subscription needed, and signers never have to create an account.
Get your documents signed in seconds
Government bodies and NGOs handle a steady flow of documents that require formal sign-off before work can begin: funding agreements, partnership contracts, compliance declarations, volunteer consent forms, and procurement approvals. WeTransfer Sign gives your organisation a direct route through all of it — upload your PDF in a browser tab, place signature fields for each party, and send each person a private link to sign from wherever they are. Recipients verify their identity with a one-time code and sign from any device, with no software to download and no account to set up on their end. You can monitor completion in real time, so nothing gets lost between departments or buried in an inbox. Sign is entirely free, and signature transfers are tracked separately from your regular WeTransfer activity.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
WeTransfer Sign works with any PDF, so it covers the full range of documents typical to public-sector and non-profit work: grant agreements, interagency memoranda, volunteer and staff contracts, data sharing agreements, procurement forms, compliance declarations, and beneficiary consent forms. If it can be saved as a PDF, you can upload it, assign signature fields, and send it for signing.
No account is required on the recipient's side. When you send a document through WeTransfer Sign, each signer receives a personal link by email. They click through, verify their identity with a one-time code sent to their inbox, and sign directly in their browser. This makes the process smooth for external partners, government counterparts, and community members who have no existing relationship with WeTransfer.
WeTransfer Sign is currently free with no limits on the number of documents you can send for signature. Signature transfers are also counted separately from your regular WeTransfer transfer activity, so using Sign does not affect your file-sending quota. There is no complex setup or paid plan required to get started.
WeTransfer Sign provides a Simple Electronic Signature (SES) under EU eIDAS and an electronic signature under the U.S. Federal E-Sign Act. This level is suitable for a wide range of everyday organisational agreements — partnership contracts, grant forms, policy acknowledgments, and similar documents. For highly regulated transactions that legally require an Advanced or Qualified Electronic Signature, consult your legal team to confirm SES meets your jurisdiction's requirements for that specific document type.
Yes. When you set up a document in WeTransfer Sign, you can assign signature fields to multiple recipients, each of whom gets their own personal signing link. This works well for multi-party agreements common in government and NGO settings — joint funding contracts, inter-organisational MOUs, or board resolutions where several officials need to sign. You can track completion in real time and see exactly whose signature is still outstanding before the document is finalised.
