Yes. Before sending, you can enable restricted access to limit downloads to a named list of verified email addresses, so even someone who gets hold of the link cannot open the archive unless they are on your list. You can also add a password to any transfer as an additional layer of protection. Both options are available on all plans and can be adjusted from your transfer details page after sending.
WeTransfer does not re-encode or modify your files. Your ZIP archive arrives exactly as you sent it, with all the original contents intact, regardless of what file types are packed inside. The only packaging WeTransfer adds is when a recipient downloads multiple loose files at once, in which case they are wrapped in a standard ZIP using lossless compression that does not affect quality.
You can switch on download tracking before sending, which logs a timestamped record each time someone accesses the transfer. For email transfers, a per-recipient indicator appears in your Transfers panel once each address has downloaded. If you use restricted access instead, you receive a detailed notification for each download, including the recipient's identity and the time of access.
A shared workspace brings all team transfers under one roof. Admins can view, manage, and oversee every ZIP transfer sent across the organisation, while members retain control over their own. Shared branding, centralised billing, and a single administration panel replace the scattered visibility of individual accounts, and teams with stricter requirements can add SSO, usage logs, and advanced access management at the Enterprise tier.
On a free account you can send ZIP files up to 3 GB per transfer. On Ultimate and above there is no per-transfer size cap, so you can send archives of any size without splitting them up. If you are regularly sharing large project bundles or asset collections across a team, an upgraded plan removes that ceiling entirely.
