No. WeTransfer sends every file in its original quality, including 4K video, with no re-encoding and no resolution loss. Recipients download exactly what was uploaded, whether that is a raw camera file, a finished edit, or a multi-gigabyte broadcast master.
Before sending, you can restrict access to a named list of email addresses, so only the people on that list can open the transfer after verifying their identity. You can also add a password as an additional layer, and update both the access list and the password after the transfer has already been sent.
Yes. Enabling download tracking on a transfer gives you a timestamped record of every download, including the recipient's email address. For email transfers you can also see per-recipient download status directly from your Transfers panel, which is useful when confirming that an editor, director, or client has received the footage.
