Yes. WeTransfer supports in-browser preview for PDF files, so recipients can read the document before deciding to download it. They can also comment on the file and mark pages or files as favorites, all without needing a WeTransfer account.
You can restrict a transfer to a specific list of email addresses, so anyone who opens the link must verify their email before access is granted. If their address is not on your list, the download is blocked. You can also add a password to the transfer as an additional layer of control, and update the access list after sending from your Transfers panel.
Yes. You can enable download tracking on any transfer, which records a timestamped log of who downloaded the file and when. For email transfers, you can see a per-recipient status directly in your Transfers panel. Enabling the Restricted option also triggers a detailed notification each time someone accesses the document.
Every file is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest using AES-256. Files are stored on AWS servers in Ireland, and WeTransfer holds ISO 27001 certification and is fully GDPR-compliant. WeTransfer does not view, sell, or share your files, and your content is never used to train AI models. Data Processing Agreements are available for business plan customers.
