Images move fast inside a team, but that speed can't come at the cost of control. WeTransfer keeps every image transfer encrypted end-to-end, gives senders fine-grained access settings, and gives workspace admins clear oversight of what the whole team is sharing.
A secure space for your team
Sharing images inside a team or with clients means balancing speed with the confidence that only the right eyes land on the right files. Every WeTransfer transfer is encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest with AES-256, held on EU servers in Ireland, ISO 27001 certified, and fully GDPR-compliant, with Data Processing Agreements available on business plans. Recipients can preview JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, PSD, RAW formats, and more directly in the browser without downloading a single file, making it easy to review selectively before committing to a download. Any image transfer can be locked behind a password or restricted so that only named email addresses can open it, with a timestamped record of every download available when you need it. For teams, a shared workspace brings centralized billing, shared storage, and admin oversight, while larger organizations can layer in SSO, custom storage limits, usage logs, and advanced access management.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes. Recipients can open images directly in the browser before downloading anything, across web, iOS, and Android. Supported formats include JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, HEIC, PSD, and a wide range of RAW formats including ARW, NEF, CR2, DNG, and more. They can also comment on individual files and mark favorites, making review rounds much faster for the whole team.
When creating a transfer, enable Restricted downloads under Access Control and add the email addresses you want to grant access to. Anyone who opens the link must verify their email, and access is only granted if their address matches your list. You can edit the access list after sending from the transfer details page, and changes take effect immediately.
No. WeTransfer sends your images exactly as uploaded, with no re-encoding, compression, or resolution changes. Whether you're sharing 4K photography, high-resolution PSDs, or RAW files straight from a camera, the recipient gets the same file you put in. The file size display may differ slightly from what your computer shows, but that is a display difference, not a quality difference.
In your Transfers panel, each sent transfer shows a downloaded or not-yet-downloaded status. For email transfers, a checkmark appears next to each recipient's address once they download, and hovering shows the exact date and time. If you enable Tracked downloads under Access Control, anyone who accesses the link must verify their email first, and you receive a detailed notification every time someone downloads.
WeTransfer encrypts all files in transit using TLS and at rest using AES-256, stores data on AWS servers in Ireland within the EU, holds ISO 27001 certification, and is fully GDPR-compliant. Automated malware scanning runs on uploads, and no staff view your files unless legally required. Data Processing Agreements are available for business plans, and Enterprise customers can also enable SAML SSO, SCIM provisioning, and advanced access management for stricter organizational governance.
