Yes. When creating any transfer you can enable restricted access, which limits downloads to a list of email addresses you specify. Each recipient must verify their email before the download is granted, so even if the link leaks outside your team, nobody outside your list can open it. You can update the access list after sending, and changes take effect immediately.
WeTransfer sends files exactly as you upload them, with no compression, re-encoding, or modification of any kind. That means OTF, TTF, WOFF, and WOFF2 files, along with any embedded licensing information, OpenType features, and hinting data, arrive byte-for-byte identical to what you sent. Recipients get the same file you packaged, nothing added or removed.
All files are encrypted with TLS during upload and download, and with AES-256 while stored on AWS servers in Ireland. WeTransfer is ISO 27001 certified and fully GDPR-compliant, and Data Processing Agreements are available on business plans. On Teams and Enterprise plans, workspace admins have full visibility over every transfer sent by team members, and Enterprise adds SSO, advanced access management, and usage logs for organizations with formal security requirements.
Recipients never need a WeTransfer account to download a transfer. They simply open the link or click the notification email and download directly in their browser. If you have enabled password protection or restricted access on the transfer, they will need to supply the password or verify their email address before the download begins, but no sign-up is required at any point.
A shared workspace on Teams gives every member their own linked account under centralized admin control, with shared branding, shared storage across the team, and a single billing arrangement. Admins can see and manage all transfers sent across the workspace, which is useful when multiple designers are distributing fonts to clients or developers.
