Sell your video footage before clients can download it

Set a price on any video transfer and keep your files locked until payment clears. Buyers check out through Stripe, the download unlocks automatically, and every dollar you charge goes straight to you — WeTransfer collects no platform fee.

Get paid for your work

Cinematographers, videographers, and stock footage creators often deal with slow-paying clients or the awkward dance of invoicing separately from delivery. Paid transfers fold both steps into a single link: you name your price, share it, and your footage stays inaccessible until the buyer completes checkout through Stripe. Files are delivered exactly as you uploaded them, whether that means 4K ProRes, high-resolution MP4s, or multi-clip project archives, with no re-encoding and no resolution loss. Recipients can browse a browser preview of supported video formats before committing, so they arrive at checkout already confident in what they are buying. Paid transfers are available on all WeTransfer plans and run from a desktop browser.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

When creating a transfer on desktop, you will find an option to set a price in the transfer settings panel before clicking Transfer. Enter your amount, complete the Stripe connection if you have not already, and share the link with your buyer. The video files stay locked until payment is confirmed, at which point Stripe processes the transaction and WeTransfer automatically releases the download.

Payments are processed entirely through Stripe, which supports major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and other Stripe-supported payment methods depending on your region. Your buyers do not need a WeTransfer account to pay — they simply open the link, complete checkout, and download the footage.

Yes. Password protection is available on all plans and works independently of the paid transfer feature, so you can combine both for an extra layer of control. Add a password in the transfer options before sending, then share it only with the intended buyer alongside the purchase link. Note that the password is not included in any WeTransfer notification email, so you will need to send it separately.

WeTransfer sends you a confirmation when a recipient downloads a transfer. You can also enable download tracking before sending, which lets you see exactly who downloaded your files and when from the transfer details panel. For email transfers, a checkmark appears next to each recipient's address once they complete the download.

On a free account, individual transfers are capped at 3 GB, which may be limiting for large video deliveries such as raw 4K footage or multi-clip projects. WeTransfer Ultimate removes the per-transfer size cap entirely, making it a better fit for professionals delivering high-volume or high-resolution footage to paying clients.
