Get paid for your work

Photographers who sell RAW files often have to choose between trusting a client to pay after delivery or delaying the handoff until an invoice clears. Paid transfers remove that tension by building the checkout directly into the download: set your price, share the link, and your files remain inaccessible until Stripe confirms the payment. RAW files are delivered exactly as you shot them — no re-encoding, no resolution loss, no compression — so buyers receive the full unprocessed originals in whatever format you use, whether ARW, NEF, CR2, DNG, or anything else. Buyers can also preview supported formats in the browser before completing the purchase, giving them a look at what they are buying without ever touching the source files. Paid transfers work on all WeTransfer plans from a desktop browser.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Open WeTransfer on a desktop browser, add your RAW files to a new transfer, and look for the paid transfer option in the transfer settings before you send. Set your price, complete the transfer, and share the link with your buyer. When they open the link, they are taken through a Stripe checkout — the download only becomes available once payment is confirmed.

No. WeTransfer charges no platform fee on paid transfers, so the full amount your buyer pays goes to you. Payment processing itself is handled by Stripe, which applies its own standard transaction fees — but nothing extra is deducted by WeTransfer.

Your files are delivered exactly as you uploaded them. WeTransfer does not re-encode, compress, or alter RAW images in any way, so buyers receive the complete original files — full resolution, full bit depth, in the exact format you shot in.

Buyers can preview supported file types in the browser before committing to a purchase, which gives them a sense of what they are getting without accessing the actual source files. The preview displays at a slightly lower resolution than the original, and the full RAW files remain locked until payment goes through.

Paid transfers are available on all WeTransfer plans, including the free plan, so you can start charging for your work without upgrading. The feature runs from a desktop browser only — it is not currently available on mobile. Your buyer does not need a WeTransfer account to pay and download.
