Charge for your 3D files before anyone downloads them

3D designers and artists can now put a price on any transfer and keep their files locked until payment goes through. Share one link, your buyer pays via Stripe, and the download unlocks automatically. WeTransfer takes no platform fee.

Selling 3D assets, models, or renders usually means juggling invoices separately from delivery, which slows you down and creates room for disputes. Paid transfers let you set a price at the point of sharing, so your files stay gated behind a Stripe checkout until the buyer completes payment. Your 3D files are delivered exactly as you exported them, whether that is OBJ, FBX, STL, Blender projects, CAD archives, or full scene packages, with no compression and no quality degradation. Buyers can browse a preview of supported file types directly in the browser before committing to a purchase, so they already know what they are getting when they reach checkout. Paid transfers are available on all WeTransfer plans and work from a desktop browser.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

When creating a transfer from your desktop browser, you will find a paid transfer option in the transfer settings panel. Set your price there, add your 3D files, and send or share the link as usual. When the recipient opens the link, they are taken to a Stripe checkout before the download becomes available. Once payment clears, the files unlock automatically.

No. WeTransfer collects no platform fee on paid transfers. The full amount you charge goes directly to you through Stripe. Standard Stripe processing fees may apply on the payment side, but WeTransfer does not take a cut of your sales.

WeTransfer imposes no restrictions on file type, so you can sell OBJ, FBX, STL, GLTF, USDZ, Blender files, Cinema 4D projects, CAD packages, ZBrush tools, or any other format your buyers need. You can also bundle multiple files or entire folder structures into a single transfer, and recipients receive everything exactly as you uploaded it.

WeTransfer's browser preview supports formats like images and video, so including rendered previews or turntable videos of your 3D work alongside the source files is a practical way to let buyers evaluate the asset before committing. The source 3D files themselves are not previewable in the browser, but pairing them with rendered references inside the same transfer gives buyers enough context to purchase confidently.

Paid transfers are available on all WeTransfer plans, including the free plan. The feature works from a desktop browser. If you are selling larger 3D scene files or want transfers that do not expire after a few days, upgrading to Ultimate gives you transfers with no size cap and the option to keep files available indefinitely.
