Set a price on your files and get paid before delivery

WeTransfer lets you attach a price to any transfer so clients pay before the files unlock. Share one link, collect payment through Stripe, and the download becomes available the moment checkout clears. WeTransfer takes no platform fee from any transaction.

Get paid for your work

Charging clients for files you share no longer requires a separate invoicing tool or a manual back-and-forth before handing over the goods. With paid transfers, you set a price when creating your transfer, share the link, and the files stay locked until the buyer completes payment through Stripe. Every file type is supported, and nothing is re-encoded or compressed along the way, so clients receive exactly what you uploaded, whether that's high-resolution images, design files, audio masters, 3D assets, or anything else. Paid transfers are available on all WeTransfer plans and work from your desktop browser, with no commission taken by WeTransfer.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

When setting up a transfer on desktop, you'll find the option to set a price in the transfer settings panel before sending. Enter your amount, connect via Stripe if you haven't already, and share the generated link with your client. They'll be prompted to pay before the download becomes available.

Payments are processed through Stripe, which supports major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and other Stripe-supported payment methods depending on your buyer's location. Clients complete the checkout directly on the transfer page, with no separate account or sign-up required on their end.

No. WeTransfer charges no platform fee on paid transfers. Whatever price you set is the amount that goes to you, minus any fees Stripe applies as the payment processor. There is no additional cut taken by WeTransfer.

The files themselves stay locked behind the payment until checkout is complete. If you want clients to get a sense of the work beforehand, you could send a separate preview transfer or low-resolution samples, then direct them to the paid transfer link when they're ready to purchase.

Paid transfers are available on all WeTransfer plans, including the free plan. You do need a WeTransfer account to send, and the feature works from a desktop browser. If you want extras like custom expiry, branded delivery, or per-transfer background customization, those are available on Ultimate.
