Request once, receive from anyone

Retail teams collecting video content often deal with the same friction: assets scattered across email threads, compressed files that arrive looking nothing like the original, and no clear way to track what has been submitted. WeTransfer upload requests solve this by giving you a single link to share wherever you need it, whether that is a creator brief, a merchandising email, or a vendor portal message. Every video arrives exactly as it was recorded and exported, with no re-encoding or quality loss, so 4K product demos, unboxing clips, and campaign footage are broadcast-ready from the moment they land. Recipients can preview video files directly in the browser before you download anything, making it easy to confirm the right cut has arrived before it goes into your production workflow. You and anyone uploading to your request both need a free WeTransfer account, and a new request takes only moments to set up.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Log in to your WeTransfer account, click Request Files on the homepage, give your request a title, and optionally add instructions covering things like format, resolution, or naming conventions. WeTransfer generates a shareable link you can drop into a creator brief, a vendor email, or a campaign message. Anyone with the link can upload their videos directly, and you get an email notification each time a file arrives.

No paid plan is required on either side. Both you and anyone uploading through your link need a free WeTransfer account, but that is all. Your contributors create one in seconds if they do not already have one, so there is no barrier slowing down video submissions from agencies, manufacturers, or independent creators.

Yes. WeTransfer does not re-encode or compress video files at any stage, so 4K product demos, lifestyle campaign footage, and unboxing clips arrive exactly as they were exported. The file your contributor uploads is the file you receive, with no resolution loss or format changes along the way.

Yes. When creating a request, you can add a message with guidance on file format, video length, naming conventions, aspect ratio, or anything else your contributors need to know before uploading. Clear instructions up front save time on revisions and mean incoming retail footage is more likely to be usable straight away.

Both options are available. You can leave a request open for the full duration of a campaign window, allowing multiple contributors to upload footage as it is ready, then close it when you have everything you need. Closing a request stops new uploads immediately, and anyone who visits the link afterwards will see a message that it is no longer accepting files. You can also delete the request entirely from your Transfers panel when it is no longer needed.
