Request once, receive from anyone

Chasing clients for files is one of those tasks that should not take as long as it does. WeTransfer upload requests give you a shareable link you can embed in a proposal, drop into a project brief, or send over chat, so clients can push their deliverables straight to your workspace. Every file arrives exactly as uploaded, with no compression, meaning CAD files, high-resolution images, video footage, and PDFs come through at full quality. You can preview supported file types directly in your browser before downloading, making it easy to spot what has arrived without pulling everything to your machine first. Both you and anyone uploading files to you need a free WeTransfer account, and creating your first request takes just a minute.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Go to the WeTransfer homepage and click Request Files. Give your request a title, add any instructions you want clients to follow such as file naming or format requirements, and share the link that is generated. When a client uploads through that link, you receive an email notification and the files appear in the Requested section of your transfers panel.

Clients do not need to install any software, but they do need a free WeTransfer account to upload files through a request link. Creating one is quick and free. You, as the person creating the request, also need a free account.

Yes. A single upload request link can be shared with as many people as you like, and each person can upload their own files through it. All submissions land in your WeTransfer workspace, and you get a separate email notification for each upload so nothing slips by.

WeTransfer supports any file type, so clients can send design files, ZIP archives, PDFs, videos, audio, images, Office documents, 3D or CAD files, and more. Files arrive without any compression or re-encoding, so they come through at exactly the quality your clients exported them.

Yes. From your transfers panel, find your request and choose Close to stop accepting new uploads. Anyone visiting the link after that will see a message that the request is no longer available. You can also delete a request entirely if you want to remove it from your workspace. Requests do not expire on their own, so closing or deleting is the way to wrap things up.
