Log in to your WeTransfer account, click Request Files on the homepage, give your request a title such as the event name or property, and optionally add instructions for file naming, resolution requirements, or format preferences. WeTransfer generates a unique upload link you can paste into an email, a vendor onboarding document, or a messaging app. Files submitted through that link appear in the Received section of your account, and you get an email notification each time an upload comes in.


No paid plan is required on either side. Anyone uploading to your request needs a free WeTransfer account, and creating the request itself also requires a free account. There are no fees for contributors, which makes it straightforward to collect images from external photographers, event staff, or partner venues without asking them to subscribe to anything.


WeTransfer does not compress or re-encode files during transfer, so every image arrives at exactly the quality it was uploaded. High-resolution JPEGs, RAW files from professional cameras, TIFFs, and PNGs all land intact and ready for editing, publishing, or archiving. This is particularly useful in hospitality contexts where food photography, interior shots, and event imagery need to retain full fidelity for print or digital campaigns.

Your upload request stays active until you choose to close or delete it, so you can reuse the same link across an ongoing event season or share it with multiple photographers over time. When you no longer need submissions, go to Transfers > Requested in your account, hover over the request, and select Close to stop accepting new uploads. You can also delete the request entirely once you have downloaded everything you need.
