Go to the WeTransfer homepage and click Request Files. Give your request a title, add any instructions for your contributors such as preferred format, naming conventions, or deadline, and share the generated link however works best for your workflow. When someone uploads via your link, you receive an email notification and the files appear in the Received tab of your account. Both you and the person uploading need a free WeTransfer account.
WeTransfer accepts any file type, so contributors can send WAV, MP3, AIFF, FLAC, AAC, OGG, and any other audio format your production workflow requires. Files arrive with no compression or re-encoding, so a 24-bit WAV master or a broadcast-spec mix comes through exactly as recorded. You can preview MP3 and WAV files directly in the browser before downloading, which is handy for a quick listen before pulling everything to your machine.
Yes. A single upload request link has no recipient limit, so you can share it with your entire cast, multiple sound studios, or a roster of freelance composers at the same time. Each person uploads independently and you receive a separate email notification per upload. All files land in your Received tab, keeping everything from that request together and easy to find.
WeTransfer sends you an email notification each time someone uploads to your request, so you do not need to keep checking your workspace. You can also log in and go to Transfers, then switch to the Requested view to see which requests are active and review everything that has come in. This makes it straightforward to track deliveries across multiple campaigns or contributors at once.
When creating your request you can add a title and instructions that contributors see before they upload. Use this space to specify the required format, sample rate, bit depth, naming convention, or delivery deadline, which saves the back-and-forth that typically follows a file request.
