Create an upload request, share the link with clients, freelancers, or partners, and let files come straight to your WeTransfer workspace. You get an email notification as each delivery arrives, so there is no chasing, no inbox clutter, and no shared-drive permissions to wrestle with.
Request once, receive from anyone
Marketing and advertising teams spend more time than they should chasing down logos, brand guidelines, raw photography, copy decks, and final deliverables from clients and external contributors. WeTransfer upload requests give you a single, reusable link you can drop into a brief, a client email, or a creative platform message, and every file routes directly to your workspace the moment it lands. Assets arrive in their original quality, so high-resolution photography, layered design files, print-ready PDFs, and video spots all come through without any compression or re-encoding. You can preview images, video, audio, and PDF files directly in your browser before downloading, which makes approving a batch of incoming assets far faster when a campaign deadline is close. Both you and anyone uploading to your request need a free WeTransfer account, and a new request takes only moments to set up.

All your questions answered.
You create an upload request from your WeTransfer account, give it a title, add any submission instructions, and share the generated link however you like, whether that is in a client onboarding email, a project brief, or a Slack message. When a client or contributor uploads files, they go straight to your Received tab and you get an email notification right away. The link is reusable, so the same request can collect assets from multiple senders over time without any reconfiguring.
No paid plan is required on either side. Anyone uploading to your request needs a free WeTransfer account, and creating the request itself only requires a free account too. That means clients and external contributors can send files without any subscription friction, which is especially useful when you are working with one-off vendors or agencies you do not manage directly.
WeTransfer handles any file type, so clients can upload layered Photoshop or Illustrator files, print-ready PDFs, final video spots, motion graphics, brand photography, audio tracks, ZIP archives of fonts and assets, and Office documents, all through the same link. Files arrive exactly as submitted, with no compression or quality loss, so a 4K video deliverable or a high-resolution product shot comes through at full fidelity and ready to use.
Yes. When creating a request you can include a title and a message with instructions, such as required file formats, naming conventions, or a submission deadline. This reduces back-and-forth with clients who might otherwise send the wrong version or the wrong format, which matters when you are coordinating assets across multiple contributors for a single campaign.
Uploaded files appear in the Received tab of your WeTransfer account, organized by request, and you get an email notification each time a new upload lands. From there you can preview supported formats like images, video, audio, and PDFs directly in your browser before downloading, so you can quickly confirm the right files have arrived. You can also close a request at any time to stop accepting new uploads, or delete it entirely once a project wraps.
