Get your expired real estate transfers back

In real estate, a missed download can mean a client never received the floor plans, a colleague lost access to the listing photos, or a contract pack disappeared before closing. WeTransfer Ultimate lets you restore expired transfers from your account, and that recovery reaches back to files you sent while on a Free or Starter plan.

Get your expired files back

Real estate deals move on tight timelines, and a transfer expiring at the wrong moment can leave buyers, agents, or solicitors without the documents they need. WeTransfer Ultimate gives you a recovery path directly from your Transfers panel, without asking the original sender to repackage and resend anything. That retroactive reach is especially useful for property professionals who upgraded from a free account, because transfers sent before the upgrade may already be restorable. Recovered files come back exactly as they were sent, whether that is a folder of high-resolution listing photography, a bundle of surveyor reports, a signed contract PDF, or an architectural drawing set. Free and Starter accounts have no recovery option once a transfer has expired, so Ultimate is the only plan that keeps the door open.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Log into your WeTransfer account, open your Transfers panel, and find the expired transfer. If recovery is available, you will see a Recover or Restore option next to that transfer. WeTransfer Ultimate is required to access this feature, and the option applies to transfers you sent yourself as well as ones sent before you upgraded.

Yes. WeTransfer Ultimate recovery is retroactive, meaning transfers sent from a Free or Starter account may already be restorable once you upgrade. This is particularly useful for real estate agents who have built up a history of transfers, since files from past listings or completed transactions could still be within the recovery window.

WeTransfer does not distinguish between file types during recovery, so property floor plans, architectural PDFs, survey reports, high-resolution exterior photography, video walkthroughs, and contract bundles all come back exactly as they were packaged. Folder structure, file names, and original quality are all preserved, with no re-encoding or compression applied.

For files under 256 MB, Ultimate users can recover a transfer for up to one year after it expires. For files over 256 MB, the recovery window is up to 90 days after expiry. Large architectural drawing sets or video walkthrough packages fall under the larger-file window, so acting promptly after a transfer expires is worth building into your workflow.

When creating a transfer, make sure the Recoverable option is enabled in the transfer settings before clicking send. On Ultimate it is turned on by default for new transfers, but it is worth confirming, especially when sending time-sensitive documents like offer packs, legal disclosures, or property marketing materials where a second download window might be needed.
