Go to the Sent panel in your Transfers section, find the expired transfer, and look for the Recover or Restore option next to it. This is available to Ultimate subscribers, and the restored transfer comes back exactly as it was originally sent, fonts and all. If no recovery option appears, the transfer is either outside the recovery window or recovery was not enabled when it was sent.
Yes, recovery on Ultimate works retroactively. Font transfers you sent while on a Free or Starter account may already be restorable the moment you upgrade, provided they are still within the recovery window. You do not need to have been on Ultimate at the time of sending for the option to be available.
Yes. WeTransfer does not re-encode or modify your files at any point during transfer or recovery. OTF, TTF, WOFF, WOFF2, and any other font formats you sent will return precisely as packaged, with no changes to filenames, folder structure, or file contents.
On Ultimate, font files under 256 MB can be recovered for up to one year after expiry. Files over 256 MB have a 90-day recovery window. Free and Starter accounts have no recovery option once a transfer expires, so those files are permanently deleted after the link goes inactive.
The Recoverable option is enabled by default on new transfers for Ultimate subscribers, so in most cases you do not need to change any settings. It is worth confirming it is switched on in your transfer options if you want to be certain, particularly for transfers containing licensed or hard-to-source font packages.
