Get your expired Figma transfer links back

A shared Figma link that's gone dark can pull a design review, handoff, or client approval to a standstill. WeTransfer Ultimate keeps expired transfers in a recoverable state, letting you pull them back from your Transfers panel — including ones you sent before you ever had an Ultimate account.

Get your expired files back

Figma exports, component libraries, and design spec packages represent real hours of work, and losing access to a transfer link mid-handoff is rarely a small inconvenience. WeTransfer Ultimate gives you a way to recover those transfers yourself, directly from your account, without asking a colleague to dig through their files and re-upload anything. Recovery works retroactively, so Figma transfers you sent while on a Free or Starter plan may already be waiting for you the moment you upgrade to Ultimate. Every file comes back exactly as it was sent, with no changes to file names, folder structure, or the contents of your Figma exports. Free and Starter accounts have no recovery option once a transfer expires, making Ultimate the only plan that keeps that path open.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Go to your Transfers panel, find the expired transfer, and look for the Recover or Restore option next to it. If recovery is available, clicking it brings the transfer back and reinstates the download link, just as it was originally sent. This works for Figma exports, component packages, and any other files included in that transfer.

Yes, recovery on Ultimate is retroactive. Transfers you sent while on a Free or Starter account may already be recoverable the moment your plan changes to Ultimate, so it's worth checking your Transfers panel straight away. The Recoverable option is enabled by default on new transfers, but older transfers are subject to the recovery window rules.

They do. WeTransfer does not re-encode, compress, or modify files during transfer or recovery, so your Figma exports, linked assets, and any packaged design files return in exactly the same state they were sent. Folder structures and file names are preserved too.

On Ultimate, files under 256 MB can be recovered for up to one year after expiry, while files over 256 MB have a 90-day recovery window. Given how large some Figma exports and asset bundles can get, it's worth recovering sooner rather than later if the files are on the larger side.

On Ultimate, you can set transfers to never expire when you send them, which means your Figma files stay accessible for as long as you need them — no chasing expired links or asking clients to request a re-send. Free and Starter transfers always expire after a maximum of three days, with no option to extend that.
