Technical documentation, network diagrams, training materials, and client deliverables don't belong on a three-day countdown. WeTransfer gives every transfer its own download link, and with the right plan you decide whether that link stays open for a week, a year, or indefinitely.
Share files that never expire
Telecommunications teams share files that get referenced long after the original send: infrastructure schematics pulled up during a site visit, compliance documents retrieved for an audit, or video walkthroughs revisited by a partner engineer months later. WeTransfer sends every file exactly as it was uploaded, with no compression and no re-encoding, so CAD files, large video recordings, PDF packages, and ZIP archives of technical assets arrive intact and open correctly on any device. Each transfer gets a unique download link that recipients can open in any browser without creating an account, which removes signup friction when sharing across different organizations or with external contractors. Sensitive specifications, pricing proposals, or pre-launch product files can be locked behind a password or restricted to a defined list of verified email addresses, and download tracking lets you see exactly who retrieved each file and when. With expiry control in your hands, evergreen resources like onboarding materials or network reference guides stay reachable for as long as your team needs them.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes. On the Ultimate plan and above, you can set a transfer to never expire, so recipients can come back to network diagrams, compliance guides, or configuration references at any point without hitting a dead link. Free and Starter transfers are available for up to 3 days, but Ultimate lets you choose any duration or keep files accessible indefinitely. If a link does expire unexpectedly, Ultimate users can also recover expired transfers, including ones that expired before they upgraded.
WeTransfer handles any file type, including CAD and 3D files, PDFs, large video recordings, ZIP archives, Office documents, and design files. Nothing is compressed or re-encoded during the process, so technical schematics, high-resolution site photography, and specification packages arrive exactly as they were created. You can also upload entire folders and recipients will download them with the original folder structure preserved.
You can restrict access to a specific list of email addresses, so only the people you've named can download the transfer after verifying their identity. Alternatively, enabling tracked downloads requires any recipient to verify their email before accessing the files, and you receive a detailed notification each time someone downloads. Both options are available on all plans, giving telecoms teams a straightforward way to control access to sensitive network documentation or client deliverables.
Recipients never need a WeTransfer account to download or preview a transfer. They open the link in any browser, accept the terms, and download directly, which matters a lot when sharing across organizations, with contractors, or with clients who are unlikely to create a new account just to retrieve files. An account is only required to send transfers.
On the Free and Starter plans, expired transfers are permanently removed and cannot be recovered. On Ultimate and above, expired transfers can be recovered for up to one year after expiry for files under 256 MB, or up to 90 days for files over 256 MB, even if the link expired before the sender upgraded to a paid plan. To avoid the issue entirely, Ultimate users can set transfers to never expire in the first place, which is the simplest approach for reference materials or documents that need to stay available long term.
