Yes. On the Ultimate plan and above, you can set a transfer to never expire, meaning your PSD link stays live indefinitely unless you delete it yourself. This is ideal for portfolio pieces, brand asset libraries, or any project file a client might need to revisit months down the line. Free accounts have a maximum expiry of 3 days, so a paid plan is the right fit if permanent availability is the goal.
Nothing is touched. WeTransfer transfers files exactly as they are, so your PSD or PSB arrives with all layers, smart objects, adjustment layers, embedded assets, and color profiles fully intact. There's no re-encoding, no compression that alters the file, and no format conversion of any kind.
Yes, WeTransfer supports in-browser previews for PSD and PSB files, so recipients can inspect your work before committing to a download. Previews display at a slightly lower resolution than the original, which is fine for review purposes, while the downloaded file is always the full-quality source. Recipients can also comment on individual files in the preview and mark favorites, making it a practical tool for client feedback rounds.
You have two options. Password protection locks the transfer so only someone with the password can open it, and you share that password with recipients outside of WeTransfer. Restricted access goes further, limiting downloads to a specific list of verified email addresses so the file only opens for people you've explicitly approved. Both options are available on all plans.
On Ultimate, Teams, and Enterprise plans, you can recover expired transfers, including ones that expired before you upgraded to a paid plan. Files under 256 MB can be recovered for up to a year after expiry, and larger files for up to 90 days. Free accounts cannot recover expired transfers, so if long-term availability matters, setting a custom or indefinite expiry from the start is the better approach.
