Audio links for newsrooms that never go dark

Broadcast teams, journalists, and podcast producers share audio that needs to stay reachable well beyond the day it was sent. WeTransfer delivers your files as a clean download link, and with Ultimate you decide if that link ever closes.

Share files that never expire

In the news and media industry, audio files have long shelf lives: a recorded interview, a raw broadcast clip, or a finished podcast episode may need to stay accessible to editors, archives, or syndication partners for months. WeTransfer sends every audio file in its original quality, with no re-encoding or compression, so the WAV, MP3, or whatever format you recorded in arrives exactly as you intended. Each transfer gets its own unique download link that recipients can open from any browser without creating an account, making distribution to colleagues, contributors, or external partners straightforward. You can add a password to any transfer or restrict access to a named list of email addresses, keeping embargoed recordings or unpublished material away from the wrong inboxes. Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, stored on EU servers, and WeTransfer is ISO 27001 certified and GDPR-compliant.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. On the Ultimate plan, you can set any transfer to never expire, meaning the download link remains active until you choose to remove it. This is useful for newsrooms and media teams who need interview recordings, raw audio, or finished broadcast files to stay reachable for archiving, syndication, or future reference without re-uploading.

WeTransfer sends files exactly as you uploaded them, with no compression, re-encoding, or quality loss. Your WAV, MP3, AIFF, or any other audio format arrives at the recipient's end in its original state, which matters when sharing broadcast-quality recordings or production masters.

A link transfer has no recipient limit, so you can share a single download link with as many editors, producers, or archive contacts as you need. If you prefer to send via email instead, paid plans support up to 50 recipients per transfer. Either way, recipients can access the files from any browser without a WeTransfer account.

Yes. You can lock any transfer behind a password, sharing the password directly with authorised recipients outside of WeTransfer. For tighter control, the restricted access option lets you specify a list of email addresses, so only those people can download the file after verifying their identity. Both options are available on all plans.

Recipients can play audio files directly in the browser before downloading, which is useful when a producer needs to audition a clip before committing to a full download. On Ultimate and above, if a transfer does expire, you can recover it within the recovery window, including transfers that expired before you upgraded, so important recordings are not lost permanently.
