No. WeTransfer does not re-encode, compress, or alter your images in any way. A full-resolution TIFF, a RAW file, or a layered PSD arrives on the other end identical to what you uploaded. The file size displayed may look different from what your computer shows, but that is a display difference, not a quality change.
Recipients can preview JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, HEIC/HEIF, PSD/PSB, and most RAW formats including ARW, NEF, CR2, CR3, DNG, RAF, RW2, and ORF directly in the browser, with no account or software needed. The preview renders at a slightly reduced resolution so they can assess the files before pulling the full originals to their device.
Upload your images to WeTransfer, then on Ultimate you can set the expiry to never so the link stays live until you actively remove it. You can organise images into folders before uploading and recipients will receive them with the original folder structure intact. Share the link anywhere: in an email, a client portal, a portfolio site, or a direct message.
Yes. You can add a password to any transfer so only people who know it can access the files. Alternatively, you can restrict downloads to a specific list of email addresses, and anyone who opens the link will need to verify their email before access is granted. Both options are available on all plans and can be adjusted after you have already sent the transfer.
On Ultimate, you can recover expired transfers, including ones that expired before you upgraded, as long as they are still within the recovery window. For files under 256 MB that is up to one year after expiry, and for files over 256 MB up to 90 days after expiry. Once recovered, you can extend the expiry or set the transfer to never expire going forward.
