Medical documents, imaging files, and clinical references don't follow a three-day deadline. WeTransfer gives every transfer its own unique download link, and with Ultimate you control exactly how long that link stays open, right up to keeping it available indefinitely.
Share files that never expire
Healthcare professionals often need shared files to stay accessible long after the initial send, whether it's a reference protocol, a set of diagnostic images, or onboarding materials a new colleague will need weeks from now. WeTransfer sends every file type used in healthcare workflows, from PDFs and DICOM exports to Office documents and high-resolution images, in their original state with no compression or alteration. Every transfer gets a unique download link that recipients can open in any browser without creating an account, so access is straightforward for colleagues, partners, and external specialists alike. You can restrict access to a named list of email addresses so only verified recipients can open a transfer, and password protection adds a further layer of control for anything sensitive. Download tracking lets you see exactly who accessed a file and when, creating a clear record for any workflow that benefits from accountability.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes. On Ultimate and above, you can set a transfer to never expire, meaning your link stays live until you choose to remove it. That makes it practical for distributing clinical guidelines, policy documents, or onboarding packs that staff need to access repeatedly over time. You can delete the transfer at any point, which immediately revokes the link.
WeTransfer gives you two ways to control who gets in. You can restrict access to a specific list of email addresses, so anyone opening the link must verify they are on your approved list before downloading. Alternatively, you can lock the transfer with a password and share that separately, adding a simple barrier against unintended access. Both options work on all plans.
WeTransfer does not compress, re-encode, or modify your files in any way. Every file arrives at its destination in exactly the same condition it left your device, which matters when sharing diagnostic images, PDF reports, or any document where fidelity is expected. Recipients download the original file, not a processed copy.
Yes. WeTransfer's download tracking lets you see who downloaded a transfer and when, which you can enable on any transfer before sending. For email transfers, you get a per-recipient record, so you can confirm a specific colleague received what they needed. This gives you a clear, timestamped record for any workflow that requires it.
On the Free plan, links expire after three days and cannot be recovered, so the sender would need to re-upload. On Ultimate and above, you can set transfers to never expire in the first place, which removes that risk entirely. Ultimate users can also recover expired transfers retroactively, including ones that expired before upgrading, for files within the recovery window.
