Free plan links expire after a maximum of 3 days, so long-term accessibility requires an upgraded plan.
No. WeTransfer transfers every file exactly as it was uploaded, with no compression, no conversion, and no modification of any kind. CAD drawings, IFC models, STEP files, and any other format arrive at the recipient's end bit-for-bit identical to the source. When multiple files are sent together, they are packaged into a lossless ZIP for download, but the underlying files are untouched.
You can restrict a transfer so that only people on a defined list of email addresses can download it. When a recipient opens the link, they verify their email and access is granted only if that address matches your list. You can edit the access list at any time from your Transfers panel, so adding a new stakeholder or removing someone mid-project takes seconds.

On Ultimate and above, you can recover expired transfers, including ones that expired before you upgraded your plan. Recovery is available for up to one year after expiry for files under 256 MB, and up to 90 days for larger files. For active transfers, you can extend or remove the expiry date at any time from your Transfers panel, which is the simpler option when you know a deadline is approaching.
