Shared documents often need to stay accessible long after you hit send. Whether you're distributing contracts, briefs, reference guides, or client-facing reports, WeTransfer Ultimate lets you keep those links open indefinitely, so the people you shared with can always get back to what they need.
Share files that never expire
When someone needs to revisit a document weeks or months after you first shared it, a broken link creates real friction. WeTransfer lets you share documents as a clean download link that recipients can open from anywhere, with no account required on their end. You can choose exactly who gets in, using password protection or a restricted access list tied to specific email addresses, so sensitive documents don't end up in the wrong hands. Everything is delivered in its original format, whether that's a PDF, Word document, spreadsheet, or presentation, with nothing altered or re-encoded in transit. If your needs change, you can delete the transfer at any time and access is revoked immediately.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes, with WeTransfer Ultimate you can set any transfer to never expire, meaning your document link stays live until you actively choose to delete it. Free and Starter plan transfers expire after a maximum of 3 days, so an Ultimate subscription is what you need if permanent access matters. Once you've set expiry to 'Never', the link works for recipients the same way as any other WeTransfer download.
WeTransfer supports all common document formats, including PDFs, Word files, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and plain text files. You can also share design files, ZIP archives containing documents, and many other formats in the same transfer. Everything is delivered in its original quality with no conversion or re-encoding applied.
Yes. PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, and presentations can be previewed directly in the browser before downloading, so recipients can confirm they have the right file without pulling anything to their device. Previews display at a slightly reduced resolution, and recipients can choose to download only the specific files they need from a multi-file transfer. They can also leave comments on individual files in the preview, which is useful for feedback on briefs, proposals, or contracts.
You have a few options. Adding a password means only people who know it can open the transfer, and you share that password separately outside WeTransfer. Alternatively, you can enable restricted access and specify a list of email addresses, so only those people can download after verifying their identity. You can also enable download tracking to see who accessed your document and when, which is handy for client-facing materials or anything time-sensitive.
Yes. One of the more useful features of Ultimate is that expired transfer recovery works retroactively, meaning you can restore links that expired before you even had a paid plan. Recovery is available for up to one year after expiry for files under 256 MB, and up to 90 days for larger files, as long as the Recoverable option was enabled when the transfer was created. Free and Starter plan users cannot recover expired transfers.
