Yes, with an Ultimate plan you can set any transfer to never expire, meaning the download link stays live until you choose to delete it. This is particularly useful for evergreen assets like brand guidelines, icon libraries, or design system components that collaborators need to revisit over time. Free plan transfers expire after a maximum of three days, so for long-term sharing, upgrading to Ultimate is the right move.
WeTransfer accepts any file type, so you can send PSDs, AI files, InDesign packages, Sketch files, Figma exports, XD assets, SVGs, and ZIP archives without any conversion or compatibility issues. Files are delivered exactly as they were uploaded, with no compression, no re-encoding, and no changes to layer structure, color profiles, or embedded fonts. If your handoff includes a mix of formats, you can bundle them into a folder or ZIP and recipients get the original structure intact.
No account is required to download or preview a transfer. Anyone with your link can open it in a browser, preview supported file types, and download what they need. This keeps handoffs smooth for clients, print vendors, or developers who are not WeTransfer users and have no reason to sign up.
You can add a password to any transfer before or after sending, so only recipients who know the password can open the files. For tighter control, the restricted access option lets you limit downloads to a specific list of email addresses, and each access is logged so you know exactly who downloaded your work and when. Both options are available on all plans and can be adjusted at any time from your transfers panel.
With Ultimate, Teams, or Enterprise, you can recover expired transfers, including ones that expired before you upgraded to a paid plan. Files smaller than 256 MB can be recovered for up to one year after expiry, and larger files for up to 90 days. On Free or Starter, expired transfers are permanently deleted and cannot be restored, so enabling a longer or permanent expiry upfront is the safest approach for important design deliverables.
