Artists and creators need their work to stay reachable, whether you're sharing a portfolio piece, delivering final assets to a client, or keeping reference files available for collaborators who return to them over time. WeTransfer gives every transfer a unique download link and lets you decide if it ever goes away.
Share files that never expire
When your livelihood depends on sharing creative work, a link that disappears before someone gets around to opening it is more than an inconvenience. WeTransfer sends every file exactly as you created it, whether that's a high-resolution illustration, a 4K video, an audio master, or a folder of layered design files, with no compression and no quality loss at any stage. Recipients can open the download link in any browser without creating an account, so there's no signup friction standing between your work and the people who need to see it. You can add a password, restrict access to specific email addresses, or enable download tracking to see exactly who has opened your files, giving you the kind of control that matters when sharing unreleased or exclusive work. Your content belongs to you, it's never sold to third parties, and it's never used to train AI.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes, on the Ultimate plan and above you can remove the expiry date entirely, so a transfer stays live until you choose to delete it. This is useful for portfolio deliveries, evergreen asset libraries, or any work you want clients and collaborators to access on their own schedule, not yours. Free plan links expire after a maximum of 3 days, so upgrading is worth it if permanent availability matters to your workflow.
Nothing is changed. WeTransfer sends files in their original state, preserving full resolution, color profiles, embedded metadata, and audio quality exactly as they left your machine. A 4K video file arrives as a 4K video file, and a layered design file arrives with every layer intact. The only packaging WeTransfer does is zip multiple files for download, and that process is lossless.
Yes. Recipients can view images, video, audio, and PDFs directly in the browser without downloading anything first, which is handy for clients who want to confirm they have the right files before committing to a large download. Previews display at a slightly lower resolution than the original, so the full-quality version is always waiting in the download. Viewers can also leave comments on individual files and mark favorites, making feedback rounds easier.
You have a few options, and they can be combined. A password lock means only recipients who know the password can access the files. Restricted access lets you specify a list of email addresses, so anyone who opens the link has to verify their identity before downloading. Download tracking shows you exactly who retrieved the files and when, so you always know where a deliverable stands. All three features are available across plans.
On the Ultimate plan, you can recover expired transfers, including ones that expired before you upgraded, so a lapsed link doesn't have to mean lost work. For files under 256 MB the recovery window is up to one year after expiry; for larger files it's up to 90 days. The simplest long-term fix is setting transfers to never expire in the first place, which removes the deadline entirely and keeps your work accessible for as long as you need.
