Construction projects generate a steady stream of plans, drawings, and specifications that people need to access on their own timeline, not yours. WeTransfer gives every transfer a unique download link and lets you decide whether that link ever closes.
Share files that never expire
Site teams, architects, and project managers often need to pull up the same files weeks or months after they were first shared, whether that is a set of CAD drawings, a structural report, or a ZIP of as-built documentation. WeTransfer sends files exactly as they left your machine, with no compression and no modification, so DWG, PDF, IFC, and any other file type arrives intact and ready to use. Every transfer gets a unique download link that recipients can open in any browser without creating an account, which keeps handoffs smooth even when a subcontractor or client has never used the service before. You can add password protection or restrict access to a defined list of verified email addresses, which is useful whenever drawings or specifications should stay within a controlled group. Download tracking lets you confirm who accessed each file and when, giving you a clear record to reference throughout the project lifecycle.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes. On the Ultimate plan and above, you can set a transfer to never expire, so a link to structural drawings or site documentation stays active for as long as the project runs. Free accounts are limited to a maximum 3-day expiry, but paid plans give you full control over that setting, including removing the deadline entirely.
No. WeTransfer sends files exactly as they left your system, with no re-encoding, no compression, and no modification to the original. DWG, DXF, IFC, PDF, and ZIP archives all arrive byte-for-byte identical to what you uploaded, which matters when precision tolerances are built into the file.
You can restrict a transfer to a specific list of verified email addresses, so only the people you name can open the download link. Anyone else who receives or finds the link is blocked. You can update that access list after sending, which is practical when a project team changes mid-build.
Yes. Download tracking lets you see who opened a transfer and when, so you have a clear record of who retrieved a drawing set, contract document, or specification pack. That information is visible from your transfers panel and is available on all plans.
On the Ultimate plan, you can recover expired transfers, including ones that expired before you upgraded. Files under 256 MB can be recovered for up to one year after expiry, and files over 256 MB can be recovered within 90 days. Free and Starter accounts cannot recover expired transfers, so upgrading is the practical move for any project where long-term file access matters.
