Design work is worth protecting. When you send Figma files through WeTransfer, you can lock the transfer with a password before sharing the link. Whoever receives it is prompted to enter that password before they can access anything, keeping your work between you and the people who should see it. Password protection is available on every plan, and there is nothing to download or configure.
Keep your files private
Sharing Figma files with clients or collaborators is straightforward on WeTransfer, and adding a password means the download link alone is never enough to reach your work. You set the password inside the upload window before sending, and WeTransfer never includes it in the notification email, so you decide how to pass it on, whether through a Slack message, a call, or however you normally communicate with that person. Figma exports, whether .fig files, ZIPs of assets, or accompanying PDFs and prototypes, arrive exactly as you uploaded them, with no compression, no re-encoding, and no quality loss. If the password needs to change after you send, you can update or remove it from your Transfers panel at any time without touching the original files. For work that needs a tighter grip on access, you can also pair a password with restricted access, which limits downloads to a specific list of email addresses so only named individuals can get through even if the link travels further than intended.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
When you add your Figma files to a transfer, a password field appears in the transfer options panel before you hit send. Fill it in there, and every recipient will be prompted to enter it before they can reach any of your files. The password is never included in the notification WeTransfer sends, so you share it with your recipient directly through whichever channel works best.
No. The password prompt appears before any files are accessible, so recipients cannot preview, browse, or download anything without entering the correct code first. Once they authenticate, they can preview supported file types, such as PDFs or exported images included in your transfer, directly in the browser without needing to download them.
No account is needed to download. Recipients just open the link, enter the password you shared with them, and download the files. This makes it easy to send work to clients, external collaborators, or anyone else who does not use WeTransfer themselves.
Yes. Open your Transfers panel, click the relevant transfer, and you can add, change, or remove the password at any time while the transfer is still active. The change takes effect immediately, so if you need to rotate access or lock out someone who has already received the link, you can do it without re-uploading your files.
Yes. Password protection and restricted access work together on WeTransfer. Restricted access lets you specify a list of email addresses, and only recipients whose email matches that list can download, even if they have the correct password. Pairing both gives you two independent checks on who reaches your Figma files, which is useful for anything commercially sensitive or still under NDA.
