When you add your files in the transfer window, look for the Password field in the transfer options before clicking Transfer. Type in your chosen password, finish setting up the transfer, and send it as normal. Your recipients will be prompted to enter the password when they open the transfer link, before they can see or download any of your documents. You'll need to share the password with them separately, since WeTransfer never includes it in the notification email.
Yes. Open your Transfers panel, click the transfer you want to adjust, and you'll find options to set a new password, change the existing one, or remove it entirely. The change takes effect immediately, so if you shared a password that needs rotating, you can update it without re-uploading your documents. Just let your intended recipients know the new password through a separate channel.
No account is needed. Recipients simply open the transfer link, enter the password you've shared with them, and can then preview or download the documents. The password prompt is the only gate they pass through, so there's no sign-up step standing between them and your files.
