Open wetransfer.com on iOS or Android, add your files, enter your students' email addresses or generate a shareable link, and send. Students receive a download link and can access their files without creating a WeTransfer account.
WeTransfer supports any file type, so you can send PDFs, presentation decks, Word documents, spreadsheets, images, audio recordings, video lessons, ZIP archives, and design files all from your phone. Files are transferred without compression, so quality is preserved regardless of format.
Yes. Teachers can create a file request link that students use to upload work directly to them. Students open the link in their mobile browser, add their files, and submit. The teacher receives an email notification when something arrives and can find all submitted files in the Received section of their account. Note that a free WeTransfer account is required to upload files through a request link.
Before sending, you can restrict access to a specific email address or a list of email addresses, so only those recipients can open the transfer. You can also add a password that you share with the intended recipient separately. Both options are available on all plans and take effect the moment you send.
On a free account, transfers are available for up to 3 days from the moment they are sent. If you need files to stay accessible for longer, for example across an entire term or project, WeTransfer Ultimate lets you set a custom expiry or keep transfers available indefinitely. Ultimate also lets you recover transfers that have already expired, which can be useful if a student missed the download window.
