Send your first transfer

Transfer files from any device

Creators rarely work in one place, and your file transfers shouldn't require it either. WeTransfer runs in the browser on any iOS or Android device, so you can send illustrations, raw photos, video edits, audio recordings, and design files straight from your phone without touching a desktop. Every file arrives exactly as you sent it — no compression, no re-encoding, no resolution loss — which matters when the work itself depends on quality. Recipients can preview images, video, audio, and PDFs right in the browser before downloading, and they can leave comments on individual files, making feedback loops faster whether you're sharing work with a collaborator, a gallery, or a client. When a transfer carries work that isn't ready for everyone, you can add a password or limit access to specific email addresses before it goes out.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. WeTransfer never compresses or re-encodes your files, so raw formats like ARW, NEF, CR2, DNG, and others land on the other end exactly as they left your phone. The same applies to 4K video, layered design files, and audio — nothing is altered in transit or at rest.

Recipients can preview supported file types — images, video, audio, and PDFs — directly in the browser without downloading anything. They can also leave comments on individual files and mark favorites, so you get targeted feedback rather than a long email chain. No WeTransfer account is needed on their end to preview or comment.

WeTransfer handles virtually any file type an artist or creator works with: JPEG, PNG, TIFF, HEIC, PSD, RAW formats, MP4, MOV, MP3, WAV, PDFs, ZIP archives, 3D and CAD files, and more. If it lives on your phone or tablet, you can upload and send it.

You have two options. You can send directly to individual inboxes by entering each recipient's email address, or you can generate a shareable link and drop it into a group chat, a Discord server, a newsletter, or anywhere else your audience is. Link transfers have no recipient limit, so one link works for a crowd.

On a free account, transfers are available for up to 3 days. On an Ultimate plan, you can set a custom expiry or keep transfers available indefinitely — useful when you're distributing ongoing work or building a back catalogue. Ultimate subscribers can also recover expired transfers, including ones that expired before upgrading, so nothing is permanently lost if a deadline slips.
