Keep your shared course materials organized

All the files you've sent through WeTransfer stay logged in your Transfers panel, giving you a clear view of every delivery. Update a transfer title to match a course module, copy a download link for a new student cohort, adjust access settings, or remove materials from circulation whenever a term ends.

Keep track of all your files

When you're sending syllabi, lecture recordings, assignment briefs, or research datasets across a semester, keeping track of what went where becomes real work. WeTransfer's Transfers panel holds a searchable record of everything you've sent, so finding a specific delivery takes a name search rather than a dig through sent mail. From there you can rename transfers to reflect the current academic period, copy an existing download link for a new class section, or resend it to a student who missed the original email, all without uploading the files again. If a document contains unpublished research or assessment materials, you can add or change a password on a transfer after sending, or restrict access to a specific list of email addresses so only enrolled students can reach it. Deleting a transfer revokes the download link immediately, which is useful when assessment materials need to come down after a submission window closes.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Open your Transfers panel and use the search bar to look up the transfer by its title. If you named the transfer when sending it, the title appears in the panel, in notification emails, and in downloaded folder names, which makes it much easier to track down a specific delivery later. If you did not add a title at the time, you can edit it now from the panel so future searches are more reliable.

Yes. In your Transfers panel, hover over the transfer and copy the download link, then share it directly with the new cohort via email or your learning management system. For email transfers, you can also use the Forward option to send the same files to a new set of recipients without starting a fresh upload. There is no limit on how many people can access a link transfer, so sharing with a large class is straightforward.

You can add a password to a transfer you have already sent, or change an existing one, directly from the transfer details page in your Transfers panel. You can also enable restricted access so only specific email addresses can download the files, which is useful for keeping draft research or exam materials within a defined group. Both settings take effect immediately after you save them.

Deleting a transfer removes it from WeTransfer's servers straight away and revokes the download link for everyone who has it. This is useful at the end of a term or once an assignment window has closed and you want to ensure materials are no longer accessible. The original files on your own device are not affected in any way.

Yes, Ultimate plan subscribers can recover expired transfers, including ones that expired before upgrading. Files under 256 MB can be recovered for up to one year after expiry, and files over 256 MB for up to 90 days, as long as the Recoverable option was enabled when the transfer was created. Free plan users cannot recover expired transfers, so educators who need longer or more flexible access to past deliveries would benefit from upgrading.
