Files are sent exactly as uploaded with no conversion or reformatting, so formulas, formatting, and macros all stay intact. There is no need to export to a specific format before sending.
No. WeTransfer does not modify, compress, or re-encode files during transfer. Your spreadsheet arrives on the other end as an exact copy of what you uploaded, with all data, formatting, and embedded content preserved. When you send multiple files together, WeTransfer packages them into a zip for download, but that process is lossless and your files are unchanged inside.
Yes, in two ways. With a link transfer, you get one shareable URL you can post anywhere, and any number of people can open it. With an email transfer on a free account, you can send directly to up to ten recipients at once and each person gets their own download notification. You only upload the files once either way.
You can add a password to any transfer before sending, which means recipients need to know the password to access the files. You can also enable restricted access and specify which email addresses are allowed to download, so even someone with the link cannot get in unless their address is on your list. Both options are available on a free account and can be set or updated after the transfer is sent.
On a free account, you can send up to 3 GB total and up to 10 transfers within any rolling 30-day window, and download links are active for up to 3 days. For most one-off or short-deadline sharing, that is enough.
