No. WeTransfer sends every file in its original state, so an ARW, NEF, DNG, or any other RAW format arrives at the other end byte-for-byte identical to what you uploaded. There is no re-encoding, no resolution loss, and no automatic conversion to a smaller format. What you shot is what your client or collaborator opens.
WeTransfer works with any file type you can upload, including all major camera RAW formats: ARW and SRW from Sony, NEF and NRW from Nikon, CR2 and CR3 from Canon, DNG from Adobe and various manufacturers, RAF from Fujifilm, RW2 from Panasonic, and ORF from Olympus, among others. If your camera produces it, WeTransfer can send it.
Yes. Recipients can open RAW files directly in their browser through WeTransfer's built-in preview, without downloading anything first. Previews display at a slightly lower resolution than the original, so your recipient can review the images and choose exactly which files they want to download. They can also leave comments on individual files and mark favorites, which is handy for client selection rounds.
You need a free WeTransfer account to send, which takes a moment to set up. Your recipient needs nothing at all, no account, no app, no sign-up. They just open the link or email, click to download, and the files are theirs. That frictionless experience on the receiving end is one of the reasons photographers use WeTransfer for client deliveries.
On the free plan you can send up to 3 GB per transfer and up to 10 transfers in a rolling 30-day window, with transfers staying active for up to 3 days. For individual shooters sending edited selects or smaller RAW batches, that is often enough.
