Send your first transfer

The simplest, free way to share

Getting images to someone should be quick and painless, and that is exactly what WeTransfer's free plan is built for. Your photos arrive in their original quality — no re-encoding, no resolution loss, no compression — whether you're sending JPEGs, PNGs, RAW files, or layered PSDs. Every transfer gets its own unique download link you can paste into a chat or drop into an email, and there's no cap on how many people can open it. Before downloading, recipients can preview images directly in the browser, browsing through the full set and choosing exactly what they want to save. When you need transfers that last longer, custom branding, or files that never expire, upgrading to Ultimate keeps your images available on your terms.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. WeTransfer doesn't compress or alter your files in any way, so a RAW photo, a high-resolution JPEG, or a layered PSD lands exactly as you uploaded it. Supported image formats include JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, HEIC, PSD, and RAW formats like ARW, NEF, CR2, DNG, and more.

Yes — recipients can browse your images directly in the browser without downloading anything first. Previews work on web, iOS, and Android, and viewers can pick individual files rather than downloading the whole transfer at once. They can also leave comments on specific images and mark their favorites.

There's no limit on the number of individual files — the only constraint is total transfer size, which is up to 3 GB on the free plan. If you're sending a large collection of high-resolution images that exceeds that, you can split them across multiple transfers or upgrade to Ultimate for no transfer size limit.

On the free plan, transfers are available for up to 3 days from the moment you send them. After that, the files are permanently removed from WeTransfer's servers. If you need images to stay available longer — for client deliveries, portfolio sharing, or ongoing projects — Ultimate lets you set a custom expiry or keep transfers live indefinitely.

Yes. Every plan, including free, lets you add a password to a transfer so only recipients who know it can access your images. You can also enable restricted access to limit downloads to specific email addresses, or turn on download tracking to see who opened your transfer and when — both available on all plans.
