WeTransfer makes it straightforward to get files to anyone without fuss. Create a free account, upload what you need to share, and send it via a download link or directly to someone's inbox. The person on the other end can download everything without signing up for a thing.
The simplest, free way to share
Sending files should take as little time as possible, and with WeTransfer it usually does. Once you have a free account, uploading is as simple as dragging your files into the browser, adding a recipient or grabbing a link, and hitting send. Your files arrive exactly as you uploaded them, whether that is a high-resolution image, a design file, a PDF, a ZIP archive, or anything else you need to move. Every transfer gets a unique download link you can share in an email, a chat message, or anywhere else the conversation is happening. For transfers where you want more control, password protection and access restricted to specific email addresses are available on a free account. When you want deliveries to stay live for longer, need to recover an expired transfer, or want to send work under your own branding and domain, WeTransfer Ultimate gives you those options.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes, a free account is required to send transfers. When you upload for the first time, WeTransfer creates one automatically using the email address you provide and a quick verification step. Signing up with Google, Apple, or Slack works too. Whoever receives your files does not need an account at all — they just click the link or the button in the notification email and download.
The quickest route is a link transfer. Open WeTransfer in your browser, add your files, switch to the link option, and click Transfer. When the upload finishes you get a unique download URL you can paste into any message, email, or document. Any number of people can use that link to download, and no one needs to sign in. If you prefer to deliver files straight to someone's inbox, the email transfer option handles that instead.
WeTransfer works with any file type — images, videos, PDFs, audio files, design files, Office documents, 3D and CAD files, ZIP archives, and more. Nothing is compressed or re-encoded on the way through, so recipients get the exact file you uploaded. You can also upload entire folders and they arrive with the original folder structure intact.
On the free plan you can send up to 3 GB per transfer, up to 10 transfers per rolling 30-day window, and links stay active for up to 3 days. Free transfers are for non-commercial use. If you need transfers to stay live indefinitely, want to recover a link after it expires, send files under your own branded domain and page, or remove the per-transfer size cap entirely, WeTransfer Ultimate is the plan to look at.
Yes. Password protection is available on all plans — you set a password before sending and share it with recipients separately, so only people who have it can download. You can also restrict access to specific email addresses, meaning the download link simply will not work for anyone not on your list. Both options are available on a free account and can be configured before you click send or adjusted from your transfers panel afterwards.
