Files are sent exactly as uploaded, with no compression or quality changes, so a multi-tab financial model or a high-resolution scanned contract arrives intact on the other end.
You have two options on any plan, including the free one. Adding a password means only recipients who know that password can open the transfer, and the password is never included in the notification email, so you share it separately through a secure channel. Alternatively, restricted access lets you specify one or more email addresses, and anyone else who opens the link simply cannot get through.
No account is needed on the receiving end. Anyone you send a transfer to can open the download link and save the files straight away without signing up for anything. That keeps things simple when you are dealing with external clients, regulators, or legal counterparties who are unlikely to want another platform account.
Yes. When you enable download tracking on a transfer, WeTransfer records who downloaded your files and when, and you can check that detail from your transfers panel.
