Yes. WeTransfer supports all common document formats including PDFs, Word files, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, plain text files, and more, all on the free plan. You can mix document types in a single transfer, and everything arrives in exactly the format you uploaded. No conversion happens on WeTransfer's end.
Recipients can preview PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoints, and Excel files directly in the browser without downloading anything first. This lets them confirm the content is what they expected before saving it to their device. They can also leave comments on individual files in the preview, which is handy for quick feedback rounds.
You do need a free WeTransfer account to send, but creating one takes under a minute. Your recipients, on the other hand, need nothing at all — they can open the download link and grab the files without signing up or logging in anywhere.
You can add a password to any transfer before sending, and only people who know the password can access the files. For tighter control, you can also restrict access to specific email addresses so only those recipients can download, regardless of who else has the link. Both options are available on all plans, including free.
Free plan transfers expire after a maximum of three days. If you're sharing documents that need to remain accessible for longer, such as ongoing client work or reference materials, upgrading to Ultimate lets you set any expiry date you like or keep the transfer alive until you choose to remove it. Ultimate also lets you recover transfers that have already expired, including ones sent before you upgraded.
