Files are transferred exactly as uploaded, with no re-encoding or compression, so your recipient opens precisely what you sent.
No account is needed to download. You share a link or send directly to their inbox, and they click to get their files immediately. The account requirement is on the sending side only, and a free WeTransfer account is enough to get started.
Yes. You can upload a whole folder and WeTransfer delivers it with the original folder structure intact, so drawing sets, specification packages, or photo archives land organized exactly as you prepared them. You can also combine multiple files and folders into a single transfer and share one link with everyone who needs it.
You can lock any transfer with a password, which you share separately with the intended recipients. You can also use restricted access to limit downloads to a specific list of email addresses, so only the people you name can open the files. Both options are available on a free account, and you can add or update them after a transfer has already been sent.
On a free account you can send up to 3 GB per transfer, up to 10 transfers per rolling 30-day window, and links stay active for up to 3 days before expiring. For most one-off handovers that fits fine. If you regularly share large BIM files or video surveys, need transfers to stay live for the full duration of a project, want to recover an expired link, or prefer clients to arrive at a page with your own branding and domain, WeTransfer Ultimate removes the transfer size cap, lets you set custom or open-ended expiry, and includes expired transfer recovery along with a fully branded page and subdomain.
