Keep count of who views your transfer
When you share a spreadsheet through WeTransfer, a preview count is visible on every transfer automatically, no extra setup needed. Recipients can open Excel or CSV files directly in the browser, so you can tell whether your data has actually been seen before following up. For client proposals, financial reports, or any spreadsheet where engagement matters, switching on tracked mode gives you a named record of each person who previewed the file. Download tracking is also available if you want to know who saved a local copy. All of this works through your transfer dashboard, giving you a clear picture of where your files stand.

Yes. Every transfer includes a preview count so you can see how many times your spreadsheet has been opened. To see exactly who viewed it and when, enable access control in tracked mode before sending. This gives you a per-recipient log directly in your transfer dashboard.
No account is needed to preview or download a file you send. Recipients just open the link and can view supported spreadsheet formats, like XLSX, XLS, CSV, ODS, and others, directly in their browser without installing anything.
View tracking (the preview count) is on by default for every transfer and shows how many times the file was opened in the browser. Download tracking is separate and must be enabled by the sender before sending. With download tracking on, you can see who downloaded your spreadsheet and at what time.
WeTransfer does not notify recipients that view or download tracking is active, but restricted access mode does require recipients to verify their email address before viewing, which signals that access is being controlled.
Use the restricted access option when creating your transfer. You specify which email addresses are allowed to open the file, and anyone else who tries the link won't be able to view or download it. This is useful for sensitive financial spreadsheets or anything meant for a specific audience.
