Yes. Every transfer includes a preview count that updates automatically, so you can see at a glance whether your document has been opened. For a more detailed view, enabling access control (tracked or restricted mode) produces a per-recipient log showing each person's name and the time they previewed the file.
Basic view counts are on by default for every transfer, no configuration required. If you want to see who specifically viewed your document rather than just how many times, you need to enable access control before sending. That setting is found in your transfer options when creating a new transfer.
Recipients can preview PDFs, Word documents (DOC and DOCX), Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and plain text files directly in WeTransfer without downloading anything. This covers most common retail formats, from product catalogues and order forms to planograms and supplier contracts. Each preview counts toward your view tracking.
They are separate. View tracking records when someone opens the in-browser preview of your document, while download tracking logs when someone saves the file to their device. Download tracking is available on all plans but must be explicitly enabled before you send. Yes. Restricted access lets you specify the exact email addresses that are allowed to open a transfer. Anyone outside that list is blocked.
