Keep count of who views your transfer

When you send a property brochure or offer document, guessing whether it was opened wastes time you don't have. WeTransfer gives every transfer a built-in preview count, visible the moment someone views your PDF, with no setup required. For a closer look, enabling access control lets you see exactly who previewed your files and when, down to the individual recipient. Recipients can open and review PDFs right in the browser without downloading anything, which means fewer friction points between you and a signed deal. Password protection and restricted access keep sensitive documents visible only to the right people.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. Every transfer includes a preview count that updates each time someone opens the file, no setup needed. If you want to know which specific client viewed your PDF and exactly when, you can enable access control on the transfer to get a per-recipient log.

WeTransfer does not send email notifications when someone previews a transfer. You can check the view count and recipient activity log directly from your transfer list at any time. For download activity, you can enable download tracking separately to receive those notifications.

View tracking records how many times your PDF was opened in the browser for a preview, which happens automatically for every transfer. Download tracking records when a recipient saves the file to their device and must be switched on by you before sending. For real estate professionals, combining both gives a clear picture of client engagement with listings or contracts.

Yes. Restricted access lets you specify exactly which email addresses can open a transfer, so only those recipients can view or download your PDF. This is useful for sending offer letters, appraisals, or client-specific proposals where confidentiality matters. You can also add a password on top of that for an extra layer of protection.

Recipients can preview PDFs directly in the browser without downloading anything, on desktop or mobile, and without creating an account. This makes it easy for clients to review a listing brochure or contract on the go. The preview renders at a slightly reduced resolution, and recipients can choose to download the original file if they need the full version.
