Know who's looking at your real estate files

Every transfer you send through WeTransfer shows a running preview count, visible the moment it's shared. When a listing presentation or offer package needs closer attention, you can turn on access control to see a named log of exactly who opened your files and when.

Keep count of who views your transfer

Real estate moves fast, and knowing whether a client has actually looked at your materials changes how you follow up. WeTransfer automatically records a preview count on every transfer, so you can see at a glance whether a listing deck, floor plan, or contract PDF has been opened. For deals where detail matters, enabling access control adds a per-recipient breakdown, showing each viewer's name and the time they previewed your files. You can also switch on download tracking to know who has saved a local copy, useful when sharing purchase agreements or disclosure documents. Everything is collected in your transfer list, organized and ready whenever you need it.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. Every transfer shows a total preview count automatically, with no setup needed. If you want to know which specific recipient opened your listing presentation, enable access control (tracked or restricted mode) before sending, and WeTransfer will record each viewer's name alongside the time they previewed the transfer.

WeTransfer does not send push or email notifications when a preview happens. Instead, your transfer list shows an up-to-date view count at any time, and if access control is enabled, you can check the per-recipient log whenever you like to see who has opened your files.

Recipients can preview images (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, HEIC, and more), PDFs such as floor plans and brochures, Office documents like contracts and disclosures, as well as MP4 and MOV video walkthroughs, all directly in the browser. This means you can also see a preview count for each of these file types, giving you a clearer picture of engagement before a follow-up call.

They are separate signals. View tracking (preview counts and, with access control, per-recipient logs) tells you who opened and browsed your files. Download tracking, which must be enabled explicitly, tells you who saved a copy to their device. For real estate work, combining both gives you a complete picture: you can see whether a client reviewed a property pack and whether they kept a local copy of the offer documents.

On a free account, transfers are available for up to 3 days before they expire. On an Ultimate plan, you can set a custom expiry date or leave a transfer open indefinitely, which is handy for active listings that clients may need to revisit over weeks. Ultimate also lets you recover transfers that have already expired, so you can restore access to older materials if needed.
