Every transfer on WeTransfer shows a live preview count from the moment it's sent. For image deliveries where detail matters, you can go further and see exactly who opened your transfer and when.
Keep count of who views your transfer
When you share images through WeTransfer, a preview count is always visible on your transfer, no configuration needed. Recipients can view JPEGs, PNGs, TIFFs, HEICs, PSDs, and RAW formats directly in the browser, so you can tell whether a client has looked at your work before you follow up. If you need more than a total count, enabling access control on a transfer gives you a per-recipient log showing who previewed your files and at what time. You can also enable download tracking separately to see who saved copies. All of this sits in your transfer list, organized and ready whenever you need it.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes. Every transfer includes a preview count that updates automatically and is always visible in your account, with no setup required. This total reflects how many times your images were opened in the browser, so you have a clear sense of engagement even before anyone downloads.
When you enable access control on a transfer (either tracked or restricted mode), WeTransfer logs each recipient who previewed the files, along with a timestamp. This gives you a named record rather than just a number, which is useful for client approvals or proposal follow-ups.
Recipients can preview JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, HEIC, HEIF, PSD, PSB, and most RAW formats (including ARW, NEF, CR2, CR3, DNG, RAF, RW2, and ORF) directly in the browser. They can also mark individual images as favorites and leave comments on each file before deciding what to download.
They are separate. Preview counts are always on and show how many times someone opened your transfer to look at the images. Download tracking is a distinct setting you enable per transfer, and it tells you who saved copies of the files and when. You can use both together if you want the full picture.
Yes. When creating or managing a transfer, you can set restricted access so only specific email addresses can open the link. Anyone else who has the link will be blocked. This works on all plans and is useful for keeping client images, proofs, or sensitive visuals away from unintended viewers.
