Know who's looked at your hotel photos

WeTransfer shows a live preview count on every photo transfer, the moment it goes out. When you need a full picture, turning on access control gives you a named, timestamped log of every person who opened your images.

Send your first transfer

Keep count of who views your transfer

Hospitality teams share a lot of photos: room shots for OTAs, event setups for venue clients, food styling for PR, renovation progress for ownership groups. Knowing whether the right people have actually looked is often as important as sending in the first place. WeTransfer tracks how many times each transfer has been previewed and displays that count in your account without any setup on your part. For client-facing deliveries where a simple number is not enough, enabling access control shifts you into a mode where you can see exactly who previewed your photos and when, recipient by recipient. You can also switch on download tracking separately if you need to know who saved copies of your images.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Every transfer automatically records a preview count, visible in your account from the moment the link is shared. No settings to change, no plan upgrade required. If you want to see a per-recipient breakdown for a specific hotel photo delivery, enabling access control on that transfer adds a log showing each person's name and the time they previewed it.

Yes. The preview count on each transfer updates in real time, so you can check your account and see whether anyone has viewed the photos before reaching out. If multiple people received the link and you need to know which client specifically opened it, enable access control when sending and you will get a per-recipient record of who previewed and when.

Preview activity does not trigger email notifications, unlike downloads. The count and per-recipient log live in your transfer list in your account, so you check engagement on your own schedule rather than receiving an alert each time someone opens the link. If you enable download tracking, you will be notified when someone saves a copy of your images.

Recipients can preview JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, HEIC, HEIF, PSD, and a range of RAW formats including ARW, NEF, CR2, CR3, DNG, RAF, RW2, and ORF directly in the browser. For hospitality teams sharing camera RAW files or high-resolution property shots, this means clients can browse the selection and download only what they need, without having to pull down the full transfer first.

View tracking captures how many times, and with access control enabled, who previewed your transfer in the browser. Download tracking is a separate option you switch on when sending; it records who actually saved the files to their device and when. For hospitality use cases, view data tells you whether a photo set has been looked at; download data tells you whether the client or agency has taken the files for production use. Both are available on all plans.
