Know who's seen your hospitality images

When you share property photos, menu visuals, or event imagery with clients and partners, guessing whether they looked is not good enough. WeTransfer logs every preview and download on your transfers, giving you a clear, timestamped record tied to each recipient so you always know where engagement stands.

Keep count of who views your transfer

Hospitality professionals share a lot of images, from venue walkthroughs and room photography to catering spreads and event setups, and following up blind on whether a client has actually reviewed them wastes time. WeTransfer separates in-browser previews from full downloads in your Transfers panel, so you can see exactly how a recipient interacted with your images before picking up the phone or sending a chaser. When you enable download tracking, each access event is tied to a verified email address and a timestamp, giving you a named record without any extra back-and-forth. For image packages meant only for specific clients, buyers, or venue operators, you can restrict access to a defined list of email addresses, keeping the files away from anyone outside that group. Every image is delivered in its original resolution with no compression or re-encoding, so your photography looks exactly as intended.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. WeTransfer tracks preview activity and download events separately in your Transfers panel, so you can tell whether a recipient browsed your venue or event photos in the browser, saved them to their device, or did both. This is useful for following up with clients who may have looked but not yet responded, without needing to ask them directly.

Before clicking Transfer, turn on download tracking in the transfer settings panel. Once enabled, every time a recipient opens or downloads your images, WeTransfer records the event against their verified email address and logs the time. You can review this activity at any time from the details view of that transfer in your Transfers panel.

Yes. The restricted access option lets you specify a list of email addresses, and only recipients on that list can open the transfer after verifying their email. This is useful when sharing exclusive photography with a specific buyer, a venue manager, or a press contact, where you need to make sure the images do not circulate beyond the intended audience.

For email transfers with download tracking enabled, WeTransfer shows activity per recipient, so you can see which contacts have engaged with your images and which have not. For link transfers, tracking records each access event tied to a verified email address, giving you a named breakdown rather than an anonymous view count.

No. WeTransfer does not compress or re-encode files during transfer, so your images arrive exactly as you uploaded them, at full resolution and without any colour or detail loss. Recipients can also preview supported image formats directly in the browser before downloading, which lets them check the content first and download only what they need.
