Know who's looking at your shared Figma files

Sending a Figma export to a client should not feel like shouting into a void. WeTransfer shows you engagement on every transfer you send, and when you need a full picture, you can see exactly which recipient previewed your files and when.

Keep count of who views your transfer

Designers often share Figma exports at critical moments, handoffs, pitches, client reviews, and not knowing whether anyone has looked is genuinely frustrating. WeTransfer attaches a preview count to every transfer automatically, so a basic read on engagement is always there when you check your transfer list. When a proposal matters or a deadline is close, you can switch on access control to get a per-recipient log showing who opened your files and the exact time they did it. Download tracking is also available if you want to know who saved a copy of your assets, not just who viewed them. Everything is in one place, so following up with a client or confirming a handoff has been received takes no guesswork.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. WeTransfer records a preview count on every transfer from the moment it is sent, and you can see it any time in your transfer list. No setup is needed for this basic view count, it is on by default for all accounts.

Enable access control on your transfer, either tracked or restricted mode, before you send. Once active, WeTransfer logs each recipient's preview activity individually, so you can see their name and the timestamp for every time they opened it.

Recipients can preview a range of file types in-browser without downloading anything, including PDFs, images such as PNG and JPEG, and video formats. Figma files themselves are not directly previewable in WeTransfer, so most designers export to PDF or image formats before sending, which are fully supported. Clients can then browse and choose which files to download.

They are two separate signals. View tracking tells you a recipient opened and previewed the transfer; download tracking tells you they saved a copy of the files to their device. Download tracking is available on all plans but must be explicitly turned on before sending, whereas the basic preview count is always visible without any action from you.

Free accounts have a maximum expiry of 3 days, after which the transfer link stops working. On an Ultimate plan or above, you can set a custom expiry date or leave the transfer up indefinitely. Ultimate also lets you recover transfers that have already expired, which is useful if a client comes back to a project after the link has lapsed.
