WeTransfer records preview activity and download events as separate actions in your Transfers panel, so you can distinguish between a client who opened a quick in-browser look and one who actually saved your files. When download tracking is enabled, each event is tied to a verified email address and a precise timestamp, giving you a clear record before a feedback call or approval meeting.


In the transfer settings panel before you click send, look for the Access Control or download tracking option and enable it. Once active, anyone who accesses the transfer will need to verify their email address, and you'll receive a notification each time someone previews or downloads your files. You can review the full activity log in your Transfers panel at any time.


Yes. You can enable Restricted access on any transfer, which limits it to a list of email addresses you specify. Anyone who opens the link will need to verify their email, and access is only granted if they're on your list, keeping sensitive design work away from unintended eyes. You can update the access list after sending directly from the transfer details page.
